Tamara Haus does not seek to recreate 1910 literally. It interprets heritage through contemporary experiences creating a place where the past and present coexist with ease.

Its purpose is to participate in the cultural revival of Downtown Cairo by reconnecting people with heritage, community, design, culture and contemporary urban life.

The Building's Memory

1910 — Today

  1. 1910

    The building is constructed in Downtown Cairo's Neo-Renaissance golden era.

  2. 1930s

    Additional floors added. The address becomes embedded in the fabric of Downtown life.

  3. 1960s

    Cultural, photographic, film and exhibition activity fills the building's rooms.

  4. Today

    Tamara Haus opens — a new chapter written by the people of Cairo and the world.
